DEEP WRECKS

Deep-sea shipwrecks are usually those below 60 m. Thanks to their exceptional state of conservation due to the cold environment, absence of light, and low level of oxygen, the deep-sea shipwrecks are key indicators of transmarine relations, economic circuits, goods production, imports and exports. The high depth precludes or makes challenging direct surveys and, above all, excludes accessibility and direct enjoyment of this heritage.
Furthermore, despite the high depth, they run serious risks: systematic looting, repeated trawling, seekers of treasures can cause the loss of a large amount of information.
